Sunday Visiting

Copyright AJ Horton

Hello and happy Sunday to you!  For your viewing pleasure today I have the Lake Tillery Dam in Mt. Gilead, NC.  This dam became the Lake Tillery Hydroelectric Plant and was completed in 1928 by the Army Corps of Engineers.  This dam is on the Pee Dee River and its completion formed Lake Tillery.  The dam is 2800 feet long and 86 feet high.  The dam is now run by Duke Energy.

The train trestle serves the Aberdeen, Carolina and Western Railway, a regional private company that is centrally located between many major cities in North Carolina.

I guess that's enough of the history lesson for today.  I hope you had a wonderful Sunday.  Thanks for looking.  See you tomorrow.
