Hello and happy Tuesday. Tonight I want to show you a Green Woodhoopoe, that you can also see in person at the Asheboro NC Zoo Aviary. There doesn't seem to be as much green as there is blue, but I didn't name the bird. This bird is from south of the Sahara Desert in Africa. The history of the hoopoes goes back at least to Greek Mythology. Karl Shuker's blog is an interesting read.
