Monday's Sunrise 08-15-16

Hello and happy Monday.  Today's picture is from earlier this year while on our cruise. This photo has three things I enjoy - water, the sunrise and clouds for character. I love this sunrise.  I love sunrises in general.  The sunrise represents a new day, with new opportunities and new challenges to conquer.  Sometimes the new day brings things we don't want like pain, anger, hurt and frustration brought to us by others and, once in a while, ourselves;  like when we work too hard physically the day before and wake up sore; or someone intentionally hurts our feelings, or something breaks that we can't fix.  Every new day is just that - new, and we look forward to meeting our challenges by doing everything better than we did the day before.  Sure, the clouds let us know that nothing is perfect, it just that somedays it comes prety close.  One things for sure, every sunrise brings change. A Greek philosopher , Heraclitus, around 500 BC, is credited with the saying, "change is the only constant ", which, af far as I'm concerned, basically sums up life.  I think I'm ready for change, a good change.  How about you?

Friday's Sunrise at Sea 02-19-16

Hello and happy Friday.  As some of you will know, I am enjoying my first cruise.  This is my first wake up aboard ship in the open sea and what a greeting I had!    We are staying in a room with a balcony and I was able to see and photograph the sun as it rose over the horizon and I like almost all of the photographs.  This one I like better because of the clouds rolling in and the sun rising behind them giving them some back lighting.  With a sunrise like this, I can tell it's going to be an awesome Friday!

Christmas Eve Wish 12-24-15

Hello and happy Thursday - and happy Christmas Eve!  For this wonderful day I have chosen a sunrise picture from above the clouds.  Sunrise is a great time of day for me.  Early morning is more like an everyday rebirth for me with a chance at a new start, a new day to make a difference in my life and the lives of others.  Each day is a gift and I enjoy all my gifts and strive to use them wisely.  On this Christmas Eve I wish for all of you the gift of enjoying each day.  I know not everyday is easy.   On those days we must be intentional in finding something with which to appreciate and to smile and to laugh.

Friday's a Beach! 10-23-15

Hello and happy Friday.  Friday is one of the best days of the week.  And today, Friday is a beach!  That's right.  I'm giving you a trip to see the sunrise at the beach and you don't even have to leave your computer.  This particular beach is in St. Augustine, FL.  I stayed at a hotel on the beach before going to a seminar last week in Orlando.  I just had to get up early and take in the sunrise - one of the best parts of the day if you ask me.  It's a time to sit, be quiet and be grateful, and to make the best of each day.

Friday's Sunrise

Hello.  Happy Friday.  Today I had the opportunity to take some sunrise pictures at St. Augustine Beach in Florida.  Since it's getting later in the year - I can't believe it's October already - I can actually get out of bed a little later to catch a sunrise.  I guess there is one good thing about the shorter days and the coming cool/cold weather.

Sunrise Wednesday

Wednesday's sunrise is from Jekyll Island, GA.  This is an entrance to what is called Driftwood Beach.  This is a wonderful stretch of beach where huge trees were washed ashore many, many years ago.  According to GoldenIsles.com "this is due to the north end of the island slowly eroding away and being deposited on the south end of the island."  Whatever the reason, this is a wonderful beach to explore.

Sunrise for a Tuesday

Since Monday's photo was a sunrise above the clouds, I thought it might me good to have a sunrise for Tuesday on the ground.  And, what better ground than that surrounded by the ocean?  I like to just sit on the beach no matter what the weather and watch and listen to the waves coming in and then imagine, as the waves recede that they're taking all my troubles out to sea, never to trouble me again.  When each wave leaves I lose a burden and my load is lighter, my spirit brighter and my soul is refreshed.  I feel lighter now just thinking about being there.  Do you think others feel the same?  Do you feel the same?  Is that why people pay lots of money for sound machines to hear the ocean waves or why we love to put empty conch shells to our ears?
