Tuesday's Bird on a Feeder 11-01-16

Copyright 2016 AJ Horton
Hello and happy Tuesday.  One of my favorite birds is the Cardinal.  This guy seems to be grateful for his seed and stopped before he flew off to give me a photo opportunity.  Turns out that Tuesday was a great day after all!

I hope you had a great Tuesday as well.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Thursday's Payday 08-11-16

Copyright 2016 AJ Horton
Hello and happy Thursday.  You know, many times people get paid on Friday.  Some people, though, are paid on other days of the week like Tuesday, or Thursday.  For instance, I usually get paid on Thursday, and on that day, I celebrate a little.  Well, today is Thursday, and it looks like this Cardinal is getting paid in the form of food and he's taking a moment to celebrate his payday with me.  I will gladly celebrate with him and take his photograph.  He's gone in an instant, of course, but his celebration, and his gratitude, will keep me smiling all day.

I hope you have something to smile about today.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Thursday's Fluff 08-04-16

Copyright 2016 AJ Horton
Hello and happy Thursday.  What's up?  My young, fluffly Cardinal friend looks like he's ready for a little mischief.  It looks to me like he has a gleam in his eye and is having a good time.  I hope so.  It's very hot outside and yet he looks cool.  I used to have a coat that was fluffy like that when I was young; except that it was pink.   My pretty pink, fluffy coat was hand made by my grandmother and I love it.  This little Cardinal's coat is natural, though.  I'm sure he's quite proud of it.

I hope you had or did something you were proud of today.  As the saying goes, "It's a great day to have a great day!"  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Friday's Food 07-15-16

Copyright 2016 AJ Horton
Hello and happy Friday.  We made it.  And, someone got to get just a little food from me.  Say hello to Mr. Cardinal, who, while he doesn't look too happy to have his photo taken, must be glad to have a little food for his belly.  I've been having Internet problems all day.  I've even called our fine representatives to help get me up and running again and still had problems on and off, so seeing this Cardinal took my mind off things for just a few minutes.

I hope you had a fabulous and trouble free Friday.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Wednesday's Wrong Way Cardinal 07-13-16

Copyright 2016 AJ Horton
Hello and happy Wednesday.  "I said turn LEFT, Private,  your OTHER left", is what I would hear if I were this Cardinal.  Oh, well, at least I got a laugh out of this one's wrong turn.

I hope you gave someone a laugh today and that someone gave you a laugh or two.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Sweet Cardinal Wednesday 06-01-16

Copyright 2016 AJ Horton
Hello and happy Wednesday.  "It's snack time", says Mama Cardinal.  She has something colorful in her beak and it looks like fun.  Maybe it's cardinal candy!  Many mamas like candy.  I know because that sounds like me.  Plus, my Mom liked her sweets as well.  Sometimes, and especially at church dinners, she would get her dessert plate first and then go back for the meal - if she still had room.  So I really understand the sweet life's temptation.

I hope you had a sweet life type of Wednesday.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

"I Want Water" Friday. 11-06-15

Copyright AJ Horton
Hello and happy Friday.  This little cardinal seems to be saying, "Hey, is there water in this hose?  Then give me some.". That house does indeed have water and I did put some water out.  But he left when I did so.  He probably came back when I was focused on something else.  Oh well.  At least I saw him now.  Water is very necessary for all life and I'm glad I could supply it for this cardinal.

I hope you were supplied everything you needed today.  I am hopeful that you had a great Friday.  Thanks for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Tuesday's Portrait

Happy Tuesday ya'll.  This female cardinal wanted me to take her photo.  I obliged. She sure is pretty!  I love all the birds that come into my yard.   I don't really have much to say tonight.  I just want to enjoy the cardinal.

I hope you had an awesome Tuesday.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

What?? Wednesday?? Seriously???

Copyright 2015 AJ Horton

Hello on Wednesday.  Wednesday?  Are you sure?  My cardinal friend here seems to be wondering why it's Wednesday.  He looks a little upset.  I want to say to him, "Don't fret, my friend, just a couple more days until the weekend".  And, "Don't worry, I will refill your food soon".  Hmmmm.  Now I wonder if he's more upset about needing more food than he is about it being Wednesday?  Nah, it's the Wednesday thing.  Ha

Speaking of Wednesday. I hope you had a wonderful one.  Don't worry, the weekend will be here soon.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Friday Bathing

Copyright AJ Horton

Happy Friday to everyone.  I know Friday is a special day for everyone - it's usually the last day of the work week and everyone just seems to be in a better mood looking forward to a couple days off.  I think it might be the same for some birds.  It seems this guy loves his baths.  When the sprinklers are turned on the garden in the morning, here he comes.  He must have a date tonight with his mate.  I guess everyone (or bird) wants to put their best foot (or feathers) forward on dates.  I did want to accentuate the color on the cardinal so I left only the color on him.  I hope you like to look at him bathing as much as I.

I hope you had a fabulous Friday.  Enjoy your evening. Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Garden Bathing on Saturday

Copyright 2015 AJ Horton
Hello on Saturday.  Today I  remembered listening to my grandmother years ago as she would tell me stories about bathing.  Apparently, they only took a real bath on Saturdays.  There were very hard economic times when my grandmother was growing up and her family did the best possible.  When the garden was being watered this morning and the cardinal began bathing I was, once again, reminded of my grandmother's story of Saturday bathing.  This cardinal wanted a refreshing sensation on a hot summer day and he got it.  And I got to record it.  I know I post a good many birds on my blog.  Today's cardinal enjoying the garden watering was too good to resist!  I feel as though I would have done an injustice to you today if I had not taken the time to place him on display.

I hope you had as wonderful a Saturday as I.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

What's Up, Monday?

Copyright AJ Horton

Hello to you all this Monday.  "What's up", my female cardinal friend seems to say.  She could also say, "Thanks for the food".  What do you think she's saying?  Maybe you think she's saying "Wow, you look goooooood!!"  Ha.  I'll take it.
How was your Monday?  Was it long, like mine.  Was it slow and easy? Was it a pain in the rear end?  No matter what the day gave you, you made it through and now you can relax and prepare for tomorrow.
I hope that no matter what happened today, that you had a good day.  I hope you enjoy my little cardinal friend as much as I.  Thanks for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Saturday Looker

Copyright AJ Horton

Hello Saturday.  Look what I found a few weeks ago when I rented a huge zoom lens.  For this little lady I didn't have to go any further than my own back yard.  Sometimes the back yard is the best place to be.  How's your back yard?  Do you enjoy it?  Do you have pretty birds like cardinals come around?  Do you have bird feeders to welcome them?  Many people do.  I have a few feeders in my yard. I also have squirrels.  There are times that I sit and watch a squirrel hang upside down on one of my bird feeders and dump the food out on the ground.  I don't much care for that, but, it is kind of fun to watch as he swings back and forth, and, the squirrels have to eat, too.

I hope you had a superb Saturday.  I hope maybe you had some fun in your own backyard.  Thanks for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Monday at Home

Copyright AJ Horton

After working a long day on Monday, it's good to be home.  It's nice to see the cardinal enjoying the food for her and her babies.  And her mate.  I see them a lot here - enjoying the food.  I also see Blue Jays and, once in a while, a blue bird.  Home is where the heart is,  It really doesn't matter where that home is located - as long as the heart is there.  My heart enjoys this bird and all the others  at this home.  Every day that I am at this house, the birds help it be a home.  I am grateful.

I hope you had a wonderful Monday.  I hope you have a wonderful home where your heart feels love.  Thanks for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Tuesday Talk

Copyright AJ Horton

So it's Tuesday!  Wanna talk?  This baby cardinal does.  I'm pretty lucky because this one and his/her family visit my yard often.  I've seen them from very little to this size to growing up and leaving.  The parents seem to stay and have a new batch every year.  I love having birds in my yard and watching their  interactions with each other.  They bring a lot of joy.  And, with the bird feeder properly placed, I can get a lot of pictures which also brings me joy.  They enjoy being fed and I enjoy photography.  It's what I'd call a win-win situation!  Haha

I hope you had a good Tuesday and there's something/someone in your life at the end of the day with whom you experience joy.  Thanks for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Hello Sunday Love!

Copyright AJ Horton

Hello Sunday.  One day, when I looked to the bird feeder, I saw this Rose-Breasted Grosbeak and he said, "Thanks for the food.  Take a picture."  And so I did.  Sometimes back yard birding is the way to go.  You create an atmosphere where these gorgeous beings feel welcome and sit back and reap these rewards.  Try it for yourself.  Whether you take their photo or not, you are sure to enjoy what you see.  This Rose-Breasted Grosbeak is in the family of the Cardinals.  It eats berries, seeds and insects.  It can actually catch an insect while in flight.  I'd like to see that!

Have a wonderful Sunday!  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.
