Winter Rose Thursday 12-10-15

Copyright 2015 AJ Horton
Hello and happy Thursday.  As I was walking my dogs this morning I happened by a rose bush that, in most other Decembers, would not be blooming,   Yet, here it is, one single bloom on the entire bush.  You know I feel very fortunate to see this.  I, of course, come back later without the dogs and snapped away.  This morning, when I was unable to snap the photo, it was just a little bud.  Now, this afternoon sans dogs, it has blossomed into this beautiful flower.  In this day and time when there's so much "stuff" going on in the world distracting us from the wonder of this great earth, it's good to know that, once in a while, when we least expect it, something pops up and says, "hey, look at me, smile and enjoy."

Please take a moment to enjoy the beauty that you find in nature today.  It's worth the look.  After all, we have to recognize and enjoy our blessings whenever possible.

I hope you had a terrific Thursday.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Friday Fishing and Wishing 12-4-15

Copyright 2015 AJ Horton
Hello and happy Friday.  This looks like a good place to fish.  This Friday, I am wishing I was at this place fishing.  I could fish, and whistle and take photographs.  I could relax.  One day, some day....
In the meantime, when I can't go fishing, I can keep wishing.  And, since I alrready have this photograph, and my memory, I can visualize myself on that dock doing what I want to do rather than doing what I have to do.  One day.

What is it that you dream of doing "one day"?

I hope you had a fabulous Friday.  Thanks for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Tuesday's Portrait

Happy Tuesday ya'll.  This female cardinal wanted me to take her photo.  I obliged. She sure is pretty!  I love all the birds that come into my yard.   I don't really have much to say tonight.  I just want to enjoy the cardinal.

I hope you had an awesome Tuesday.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Peak-a-Boo Monday

Copyright 2015 AJ Horton

Hello on Monday.  One day I was out and I began taking pictures of the huge, but beautiful stump.  Is it still called a "stump" if it's huge?  Anyway, it was then that I noticed this little lizard playing a game of Peak-a-Boo with me; and I liked it.  I guess some people would call it "photo bombing" but I like Peak-a-Boo better.  This little guy is just not sure if he wants to come out on Monday. I'm not always sure if I want to go out on Monday either.   But, like this little Peak-a-Boo-er, I do.  I make it out, I do the best I can and I make Monday a good day.  I'm sure you do, too.

Peak-a-Boo!  I hope you had a merry Monday.  I thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Monday's Looker

Copyright AJ Horton

Hello Monday.  Yes, you're right - I do like herons. I've posted many of them on here.  And this one is a real looker.  He's gorgeous to me.  This may be one of the very rare times that I've gotten a photo from my kayak that is so sharp.   I love looking at it, I just don't have that much to say about it.  I just keep looking. I hope you enjoy it, too.

In the meantime, I hope you've had a great Monday.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Tuesday's Fly on a Log

Copyright AJ Horton

Have you ever wanted to be a "fly on a wall"?  You know, to listen into people's conversations or see what they do when no one's watching?  Well, here's a fly on a log.  Close enough?  Well, maybe not,  But it is a cool photo!  And, I'm glad that fly is not on me.
We all want to listen in on people's conversations from time to time.  We want to know who they're talking about.  We want to know if they're talking about us.  We're curious.  I think that's human nature.  Well, that, and a little paranoia.  I hear people say "I wish I was a fly on a wall when they found out....".  I say it myself sometimes.  But then I wonder...  What if I am a fly on the wall and they squash me with the fly swatter?  Ouch!!  So, with that thought in mind I'm cured of wanting to eavesdrop for a while.   Oh well.
I hope you had a wonderful Tuesday.  Thanks for looking.  Hope you enjoyed your fly on the log.  See you tomorrow.
