Wednesday's Bobcat 07-20-16

Copyright 2016 AJ Horton

Hello and happy Wednesday.  This little Bobcat, in my mind, has just an angelic look to him that it's hard to believe that he is an excellent hunter.  He hunts mostly rabbits and hares, but can, during the winter months especially, catch an adult deer.  Needless to say, while I might want to go up and give this guy a hug, I am not going to mess with him.

I hope you had a wonderful Wednesday and found someone you could hug.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Nature's Kiss and Hug (X and O) Tuesday. 11-03-15

Hello and happy Tuesday.  As you know, last week I was fortunate enough to go kayaking.  I love being out in nature .  I love it even more when nature loves me back.  I'm hoping you see the love, too - the X and O, or Kiss and Hug as I like to think of them.  This was my first time kayaking this area and I'm glad it loves me because I love it, too, and I plan on kayaking here for many years to come.

I hope you had a loving, happy Tuesday.   I thank you for looking and seeing my nature's kiss and hug.  I hope you feel the love.  Thanks for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Sun Day

Copyright 2015 AJ Horton

Hello on Sunday.  I have a  black vulture here for you today.  I photographed this sunning fellow at Cedar Creek Dam near Great Falls, South Carolina today.  This one looks like he wants a little sun, maybe he wants to dry his wings.  Well, it is Sun-Day, after all.  Why shouldn't he get a little sun?  Why shouldn't we all get a little sun?  Sun-Day is a great day!  You know, this guy could be asking for a hug.  He does look a little on the hug-able side.  But then, you remember, he's a vulture, and likes road kill, so..... NO to the hug.

I hope you had a great Sun-Day!  I thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

A Peachy Saturday

A Bushel and a Peck and a Hug Around The Neck

Happy Saturday.  Today was the Peach Festival in Candor, North Carolina.  Candor is the Peach Capital of North Carolina.  If you happen to love peaches as I do, then you would love this festival.  Of course there are peaches for sale, but there are other vendors as well.  The obligatory food trucks are there, as well as rides for children, handmade jewelry and pottery, local health and other service agencies.  Did I tell you about the two bands they had playing today?  Both were very good.  And the peaches - about everything you could ask for from a peach - peach cobbler, peach cupcakes, peach ice cream, etc.  It's just a perfectly peachy day and I love this day.
As I was walking to the festival this morning and thinking about purchasing peaches and this blog, it came to me what I would talk about this evening.  All of a sudden I had a flashback to my childhood and I knew I had to tell you.  After  my sister and I would get ready for bed each evening, my mother would come in to say our prayers with us.  Then she would ask if we knew how much she loved us.  And, of course we would respond, "How much?"  Then she would say what I still love to hear today, "A bushel, and a peck, and a mmmm-mmmmmm, hugggggg around the neck!"  And she would give each of us a great big hug.  It was a wonderful way to send us off to sleep.

So, I bought a half bushel and a half peck and I already had the hugging monkey, so I took the above pictures and merged them to show you a bushel and a peck.  The monkey hug is just for fun.  I like hugs.  I like fun.  And I like fun hugs.

I hope you had a sensational Saturday.  I hope you have someone to give you a great big hug at bedtime.  I have found that hugs are also good at anytime throughout the day.  Thanks for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Big Sunday Hug

Copyright AJ Horton

"Come on over here and give me a great big bear hug", he seemed to say.  Umm, no, I think I'll keep my distance.  But you're a lovely, lonely looking bear.  I wish I could trust this "bear hug" to not kill me.  He looks innocent enough.  Sometimes the ones who look innocent are the ones that can hurt you the most.  This appears to be an American Black Bear.  He grows 5 - 6 feet in height and can weigh anywhere between 200 to 600 pounds.  So, as much as I love hugs, I think I'll gather them from other humans.

I hope you've gotten plenty of hugs this Sunday.  Hugs really do help us feel better - even if we were already feeling good.  I always enjoy a good hug.

I hope you've had a wonderful hug filled  Sunday.  Thanks for looking.  See you tomorrow.
