Saturday's Lion 10-15-16

Copyright 2015 AJ Horton
Hello and happy Saturday.  Today might be a day to get up, get out and get going - to roar!!  Oh wait - this guy is yawning.  Oh well, I guess that means today might be a day to get up, get something to eat, wander around, maybe watch a little tv and then - yawn - go back to sleep.  Well, some days not even the mighty lion feels like roaring.  So maybe, after a long week with lots of hard work, it's fine to take a day to relax and do nothing if that's what you want.  I think I'll take a cue from this mighty lion and relax today.

I hope you had a wonderfully relaxing Saturday.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow.

Tuesday's Lion Around 05-24-16

Hello and happy Tuesday.  I know someone who's just lion around today.  In fact, I think he lies around most of the time.  Maybe that's why they're called lions - because they lie on the ground most of the time - haha.  Some days I think I could lie around all day long and not do much.  Other days I know that I am not able to do that - I have too many things I want to accomplish.

I hope you had a terrific Tuesday.  Thank you for looking.  See you tomorrow,

Sunday's Lion 11-08-15

Hello and happy Sunday.  I have my new find for you to see tonight.  I found a lion protecting things,  It seems a little serendipitous to me because my astrological sign is Leo.  Needless to say I have an affinity for lions,  The lion and I have something in common - he is known for being the "king of the jungle", and I like to be the "queen" of my home.  Although my "queen" thing doesn't always work for me in my home, I will still "roar" when I think it's necessary.

I hope you had a roaringly great Sunday.  Thank you for looking,  See you tomorrow.

The Lion Sleeps Tonight

Copyright 2015 AJ Horton

"In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight....." written by Hugo Peretti, George David Weiss, Luigi Creatore  and performed by the Tokens.  If by some very small chance you do not know the tune or any of the lyrics you can find it on YouTube, "The Tokens - The Lion Sleeps Tonight.

When I was at the Asheboro Zoo yesterday and saw this guy, that song immediately sprang to mind and, in my head, I was transformed.  Any stress I was carrying instantly vanished.  I knew what I had to do.  I had to sing only in my head so as not to disturb the king of the jungle so I could make many photos.  But now I can sing as loudly as I want for I am home, safe and sound

I hope you've had a fantastic Friday.  I hope you have a nice song that you like to sing - even if it is in your head.  Thanks for looking.  See you tomorrow,

Saturday Lion

Copyright AJ Horton
Happy Saturday to everyone.  I think this Saturday, I am going to lounge around like this lioness.  I guess I am just going to be "lion" around today, ha.  Did you know that lions like family?  Yep.  Their family of males, females and cubs is called a "Pride".  The males defend it by giving loud roars and marking their territory.  The females get together to hunt, bring back food and, can you believe it, let the males eat first.  I'm hoping they take a few bites on the way back home just in case the guys eat all of it.  The females are also mostly responsible for raising the young.  So having some time to lie around and relax is necessary.  While lions once roamed in large numbers across Africa, Europe and Asia, their numbers are dwindling rapidly.  Now they roam only in sub-Saharan Africa and a small population in India's Gir Forest.  (according to NationalGeographic.com)  Lions are on the Vulnerable list and face extinction if we're not attentive to their plight.  Apparently, from what I've read, people hunt them just so they can hang their heads on a wall.  Sad.  I think we should let these regal animals live their lives out naturally, just like I want to live my life.  And, hopefully, just like you want to live your life.

So this Saturday, live a little.  Decide what you want to do and then do it - even if it's just "lion" around like me.

Have a great Saturday.  Thanks for looking.  See you tomorrow.
